took some time yesterday to walk around Hines and sons for a couple hours. Wasn't looking for anything too specific.
Amazing how much stuff there is there. Probably one of anything ever made. Always find something I hadn't seen before. wanted to go late winter before the leaves started setting but too late. Hard to see alot of stuff already. Should have worn the carharts and barn boots too.

Was there myself, about a month ago. Didn't know that they had so many combines. Have been there 4 or 5 times and still haven't seen it all.

It's always a neat place, but timing a visit is everything. I bet it's greening up nicely over there, now.

They've got acres and acres of machinery and parts, and more comes in every day, and if I live to be a hundred and spent 7 days a week there I'd never see it all. They seem to know where most of everything is at when someone's looking for something specific, though. Lots of equipment and tractors I've never seen elsewhere or have only seen a handfull of, and have lots of interesting one-of-a-kind creations. I never saw a crawler tractor with a motorcycle engine until I saw one there.

Type this address in google earth. It goes without saying if you zoom downward, but it's on the north side of the road.

Clint take the 20 bypass ( St. Joseph Vallet Parkway) around the south side of South Bend - Mish.IN. to 331 south and go south to Kelly Rd.and turn left( only goes east) follow Kelly Rd to Fern Rd. and make right follow it to Rosevelt Rd.and make left and you can't miss it with all stuff hes got around there.

this was my 4/5th trip. Still haven't seen it all. Alot of stuff in the middle along the east end is difficult to see/get too. Need the carharts on next time. Poison ivy starting to grow too. we found a morgue table (i think) there Sunday.

Most interesting thing for me was the Indiana bus (what's left anyway), the autocar fuel truck and the Studebaker mail truck--which i thought were made as prototypes at the end of the company.

Kinda wonder some times how they make $ there. I think i would have hauled alot of the truely useless stuff back when scrap prices were high.
