Where's my problem.....SOLVED

I asked last week about a problem I had getting my Case 580D started, turned out to be the battery hot cable was corroded inside the covering, new one on with soldered ends, now starts fine.
Thanks to all who made suggestions.

Ran into that once on my grandmother's car...at the time, she has a '72 AMC Matador with a 6, and she couldn't get it to start. So after checking the battery cables from the battery to the solenoid and from the battery to the engine ground, I was baffled. I could hear the solenoid [relay-style] on the inner fender engage, but the starter wouldn't. So I jacked the car up, crawled under it, and pulled the starter off.

With the starter off, I connected my jumper cables, and discovered the starter ran freely...so I was pretty sure the starter was OK. So I reinstalled the starter, and had the same problem. For craps and grins, I connected one cable of my jumpers from the solenoid to the starter...and the car started perfectly. After replacing the cable between the starter and the solenoid, I cut into the insulation [it was soldered and sealed, too] and found about 4 inches of length had major corrosion under the insulation. Just made too much resistance to overcome.
