The county had a trackhoe and grader parked next to our place the last couple days.Around 10:45 last night night the machines were staated up and were moveing around with no lights.Seems 2 drunks were walking down the road and decided to have some 'fun'.they almost put the grader into a DEEP drainage ditch.the guy in the trachoe drove it down the road 1/4 mile and proceded to dig a trench 3' deep across the county road. They got cought in the 'act',and were hauled to jail. They are now faceing multiple charges.I'm sure glad Susan called 911!So are they cops-they told us so!!

Back in the mid 70s,somebody drove off with a Gleaner M2 combine and took it for a joy ride here. Took out a lot of mailboxes, small trees, lawn ornaments, you name it. Took it through some deep ditches, finally broke the drive axle so it wouldn't go any farther. I was at the AC dealer when they brought it in. Not a whole lot left of it.

7 or 8 years ago there was a home under construction a couple miles from us, contractor left his track loader and skid loader on site. Someone, as far as I know no one ever found out who, took both machines for a joy ride, demolished the forms that were set to pour the basement floor and then put sugar in the fuel on both machines. Contractor was a younger guy and was just about in tears over what had happened, as any of us would be. But, he had left the keys in the machines (yeah they are just standard manufacturers keys) but that left the door open for just about any idiot to wreck his world. Have to protect ourselves as best we can anymore.

What the heck does that have to do with this POST???? I don't know too many UNION carpenters that could build a house out in the country. Not many country folks could afford to pay union wages for a home. About the only union wage things build around us are the public buildings.

We have a high school building that was just built in 1995. It is getting torn down. The UNION roofer did such a poor job that it leaked and black mold started in the ceilings. They even tore them out an washed them off and the mold just keeps coming back. The county health department condemned the building last year.

The district is having to sue the roofer and contractor for damages.
