I was getting nervous about mine. Planted two weeks ago today and the alfalfa was sprouting but no oats poking up til this morning. Finally saw some coming through. Can't see'em from the road yet,but at least they're coming.

I have some in lancaster county pa that just broke through. I was getting worried too. I also have an area that didnt come up because yuppy neighbor with lawn mower front end loader decided to drive through my field multiple times. Apparently in his mind if nothing is sprouted driving through it couldn't do any damage....IDIOT.

Randy, Mine are up inch and a half to two inches. Fields (2) look nice and green. Been sweating bullets about the cold frosty nights, but doesn"t seem to have hurt the oats. Haven"t got down and looked for alfalfa seeding, but thinking it will be a little later in coming up. So far so good!

What suprises me, is how few farmers around here haven"t begun to fight so far this year. Was on the road with DE kids today. Talked to my sis-in-law in Charlotte, she said they hadn"t started either... They were changing out points on chisel plow, though.

Mike, I was all over mine with a fairly heavy garden tractor (JD 140) and a two wheel dump cart. Even after the oats were poking up, picking the rocks that poked through. Didn't seem to make an damage to crop. Should have gotten at it right after drilling, back in March, but had other things come up.

There's a field over north of Gowen that I think is planted to corn. Ken said he went by there Friday night and he saw somebody planting with an old Deere 6 row planter. Hard to believe it would be sugar beets with an old planter like that.
But yea, just some stalks disced here and there. I'm sure not in any hurry. Won't take long when the wheels start turning.
