My FIL asked me to post this old cane/sorghum press he has, and try to get some suggestions about how much it might be worth (we both realize it's worth only what that one person in ten million might be willing to pay for it.) Actually he has a prospect interested in it who will be traveling down south this summer.
This press is an Amazon No. 2 made by the John Deere Plow Company, St. Louis. The numbers 2-28 are cast in, we dont know if this might be the manufacture date or patent date.
Before you ask, the press is sitting beside a Bulldog 6 hp hit-n-miss open crankcase engine with a Webster igniter. It was used as a water pump in a north Louisiana oilfield back in the 1920s. He had the thing running a few years ago; fun to listen to it pop.
