I have no idea of the manufacturer of this tractor and after searching the web for photos I still can't even get close. I was told this was a Ford 8N but I don't think this is accurate. Does anyone out there know? I would be grateful for any help

Thanks for your help. I just went out to the web to view images and it sure looks like a Farmall. You're right it has been refitted with a different engine.

Farmall F-20 that someone modded with a later ('62 and up) chevy 6 cylinder. It's either a 235 or a 250. Has homemade frame rails.

Thanks for your help. It was more than expected and I"m grateful. Do you think anyone would be interested in restoring it or should I send it to the scrap yard?

I am sure someone would pay you something for it, either to restore or for parts. I don't know for sure what scrap value is, but I would say somewhere in the lower few hundreds as it sits, and to prepare it to get more money for the scrap will take time and a torch, so I would think you might be money ahead to advertise it and see if anyone bites.

A similar F20 recently sold on ebay for $520. It said it has a Chevy engine and transmission.

Not sure what scrap value is right now... but I think they weigh nearly 4,000 lbs (at least our Regular does with steel wheels all around).

If you do scrap it - and you don't mind the hassle of selling parts... you may want to pull and sell a few of the more valuable parts: the front wheel rims with the removable cast centers and NO tires on them recently sold for $103, front axel spindles if good condition are sellable, the pulley wheel is worth a few bucks, gas tank, if it has a PTO extension unit they are worth a few bucks (one PTO extension unit is curently bid up to $178 on ebay... and still has several hours to go - and that unit has been welded on the cast PTO bearing case so it is not perfect). Seat channel and seat are probably worth $20-30 bucks minimum, and the foot brake unit if complete and factory-made is worth a few bucks too... one just sold for $62 on ebay, and another for $42. *Then you can scrap the rest and it will still weigh up pretty heavy.

Don't know about restoring it since original engine is gone. I would not scrap it though. Such that it is, its still a complete machine and has most of the F-20 parts there. It even looks like they did a good job with the cutoffs.

Put an ad as a parts tractor for 4 or 5 hundred (roughly scrap value). Even to scrap it you will have to mess with removing and disposing of the tires.
