Fargo Foundry Fuel Tank Cap

Hello-

We have a Fargo Foundry/ Fargo Steel Mfg. auxiliary tank on the front of our JD 4240, and I have lost the cap. It is approx. a 2-1/2" threaded pipe that the 1/4 turn cap assembly threads onto, and the cap has lugs around the outside lip, not in the center. Does anyone know where I can find another cap? I've tried all the local implement dealers, the hardware store, and my fuel supplier. It is kind of an odd cap as I understand- just wondering if there are any other upper midwesterners who have had to replace one....going to call the company that took over Fargo Steel tomorrow. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for any help.

See if you can get a GATES or STANT Buyers Guide. In lieu of that, take some careful measurements of your set up and your needed requirements. There would be a pictorial section of caps with measurements/specifications, etc. Years and years ago...seems like a previous lifetime...I worked behind sales counter of a good auto parts/warehouse dist. and helped more than one customer get stuff by using the buyers guide. I would start with NAPA and maybe O'Reilly's.

Good luck....Rick

That sounds like the same cap which is used on auxilliary fuel tanks sold by the local Cenex dealer. These caps are somewhat oversized with a hole for a padlock near the outer edge.
