question on allis chalmers powershift

I have three friends with them, They seem to be bullet proof. The gear spacing is better than a Quad range JD, or your IHC. Do not force it into reverse, you will break the shifting fork. They can be welded in place without splitting the tractor. Vic

Mine worked fine while I owned the tractor. Zero problems. Pulled a 3 shank sub-soiler and a 12 foot disk. It toyed with the disk.

If I recall it was a 1977 or 78. Owned it 2005-2009.

I will disagree with the other posters. The 7000 series tractor finished off AC. They had engine and transmission problems. That is why they sell so cheap. The market reflects value and a 7000 AC is not a good value.

It is not hard to put 5K or more into just the parts to repair a 7000 series power shift. Did AC 7060 last year the parts alone where $7600. That was finding and using what good used parts we could find.

I know some guys on here think that they are a fine tractor but those around me have not had that kind of luck.
