Old Chevy Front Axle

I have an old Chevy front axle, 'bout 2-ton I would say, (5-bolt pattern 20" BUDD steel wheels.) What I need are the screw on dust caps that go on the outermost part of the hub. In other words if you were to remove the front hub bearings for service; you would first have to unscrew this steel cap, then remove the cotter pin, and then the nut. This cap is 2 5/8" in diameter, about 2-3" deep and has about 16 threads per inch with the threaded part on the INSIDE of the cap. Would think back in the day this cap was just hand-tighten on to hub.I am in need of 2. Can any of you people out there help.
Thanks

We had a 1929 chev car that had similair dust caps,I can't say with certainty that they are the same but an auto restoration supplier may have the caps. If there are any Car clubs in your area the old Chevy guys could help you.I often go to automotive flea markets and find rare parts like that..local Fire Department was restoring a 1917 Chev fire truck and needed a carburetor. Someone in the departemnet knew I has messed with old cars and asked me if I could find one..brought them back three and all for under $15..good luck

Go buy a Hemmings Motor News off a news stand- about an inch thick, every antique auto supplier in the universe advertises in it. Can just about guarantee you'll find them, after making a few calls.

I have a 1965 GMC 1-1/2 ton out back that might have one of those on it. Some one stole the other one hub and all years ago and they also stole the transmission

I have a couple of old running gears with those types of dust caps on them and have been able to go to the local Napa and get them. He has a book with stuff like that in them and he has to order them but last time I bought one they weren't too expensive.
