Golden Rod fuel filters

I have a three hundred gallon gravity fuel tank with a golden Rod clear plastic filter on it. When the tank starts getting around the half full mark fuel runs slow as molasses out of it. Does anyone else have this problem, or is their a better filter system to use. I think this filter would be fine under pump pressure, but with a gravity flow I am not real happy with it,

have been more than happy with mine for over 20 years with a rusty tank , but with it on the suction side of an old service station gas pump.
 
I get a harder pump when my tank starts to empty. We put a new filter on, and it eases up again. Guess it's doing it's job- we haven't had many injector pump troubles, and rarely need to replace the tractor filters.
 
Most fuel Suppliers are running out of customers, less and less farmers every day. Big customers want big pumps. Your's should have plenty of spare pumps. especially if you will take one without a meter. Cut your legs off and put a pump on top. I'll bet they will loan you one. If not there is other Suppliers. I had a customer that complained that the Fleetguard filters we were selling plugged up too easily. He said he switched to Baldwin filters and they don't plug up. Something to think about.
 
I had that problem. I assume you have the filter right at the outlet on the tank?. If so, get a elbow and put a 4 or 5' pipe down toward the ground and attach your filter there. It gives you more head pressure. Worked for me.
