neighbour killed under tractor rollover today

He was plowing snow, no one really knows how it happened, but the tractor rolled over on him. He was 89, a Lodge brother, and a WWII veteran. Since I'm Master of the Lodge, I'll probably be doing a Masonic service at the funeral for the family.
Prayers would be appreciated at this time.

at least he didn't waste away his last years in a home somewhere, instead, he ended life doin what he liked doin...... What more could you ask for. Give him a good send off and pass condolences to the family from this side of the lake.

Prayers for the whole family and you. I was a officer in a lodge and we put on services at funerals and I can tell you all it wasn't no fun and it never got any easier.

Sorry to hear that, tragic way to go, but at least he was doing something he enjoyed and not wasting away in a bed somewhere.

What kind of tractor was it?

Snow today hardly needed plowed....unless it drifted in a nice big pile on your driveway.

Just down the road from me, less than 1/4 mile. Truemanville, just outside of Amherst. It will probably be on tomorrow's news. Kinda late in the day when it happened for today's news to be picked up in Halifax.

Just came from the hospital today where a family friend is dying in bed. Please God let me die doing something I like or doing something noble. Instead
of hooked to a machine lying in bed.

sorry for your loss .
never heard any thing about it .
lost a friend couple years ago under a compactor roller .
was nasty hear , only could see about 100 feet in the morning and about 4 inches of snow .

Hi Ron, News on Tuesday of a 49 year old man ,loss of life cutting a tree and tree fell on the person causing death, this occured some where in Cumberland County? I am involved with the Fire Service and we quite often do counselling (CISM) if the local fire department is requested for their services during the incident. Murray

Murray, the gentleman killed by the tree was in Chapman Settlement, about 10 minutes from here, while yesterday, it was my neighbour two doors up that was pinned under the tractor. I see it still hasn't made the news. They sent him to Halifax for an autopsy.

With someone that age, you always wonder if he had a sudden medical situation that caused him to lose control of the tractor. He may well have been deceased before the tractor accident happened. Good to note below that they are doing an autopsy, so the family will know.

My condolences for the loss to the community.

Hi Ron, Thanks for the update. The information of the tree falling accident was in the paper a second time today. There was no explanation of how the accident occured? Very sad, 49 years old could be a very young family involved. Thanks, Murray
