Yesterday we took 2 miniture donkeys and 2 LLahmas to the livestock auction. I knew they werent worth much, but when I picked up my check it was for $7110.They made a small mistake, it should have been for $711.Well I took it back to the window and told them that there was a small mistake on this check, and the lady was real quick to tell me that they dont make mistakes and that I was wrong. When I explained to her that I was overpaid by$6399,she suddenly had a change in her attitude! LOL She very kindly thanked me and they rewrote my check. Well you know for about 3 seconds I thought about not saying anything and just take the money and run! But they would have eventually found the mistake! I wasnt brought up that way.If its not yours, you dont take it! Anyway, that was my good deed for the day! LOL Doug

It's always happened the other way for me. Sent some holstein bull calves one time, brought 96-98 cents for the most part. One brought a dollar a pound and they paid me a dollar for the calf. Thy refused to straighten that out. I don't do much business with that yard anymore.

At least she finally listened. I had a bank teller give me $20 too much at a drive through once. I moved forward & counted then drove around the bank, waited my turn to give it back but according to her she didn't make a mistake. Counting the drive & wait I spent 15 minutes trying to give back that twenty and coulden't do it.

If they would not straighten up that mistake they must have been a bunch of crooks to start with. I bet the buyer paid the actual selling price.

Old manager at a place I worked had a $1000 error in his favor in his checkbook, courtesy of his bank. His wife went to the bank said "I am honest abe's wife and you bank folks made a mistake" Bank says....."we didnt screw up anything" Another month goes by. Still $1000 over in the checkbook, they brought it to the banks attention again...."We here at the bank didnt make a mistake" This guy and his wife closed out their accounts and left. $1000 for free is a nice parting gift.

A high school classmate of mine took a set of four beat up mag wheels to an old iron place. They were going to give him $46 for the set. Someone's finger must have bounced on a key on the computerized check writer, 'cause it printed out a check for $4600.

They didn't catch it at the time, so this bonehead went home, cashed the check, and went out and bought a pickup.

Coupla weeks later, they caught it and called him, wanting their money back. Of course, he no longer had it. Last I heard, he made a deal to pay $100 per month til it was paid off. Knowing the guy, I'm not going to bet on that happening.

My daughter has a debit card that her student loan/grant money is put on.
She went to the school ATM machine to get some cash. You can get multiables of $10 or $50 so she tries to get $40 (4-$10) but it gives her $200 (4-$50).
She reports it and come to find out the machine had been doing that for a whole week and yet no one reported it.
Do not know if the machine messed up or if someone put the $50 bills in the wrong place.

Well, no more free advice for YOU, Popper. . .LOL

Got an extra 10 in change from the grumpy restaurant owner when I was a teenager. Told him about it, he looked at it and gave it back, saying, "I'll be dammed, an honest kid. Here, take it, with my compliments. Would appreciate it if you spent it here, or course, but no strings attached."
