Local dealer runs whatever they have for sale thru the shop and repairs/rebuilds as needed (maybe even paints), puts a (thier) sticker on it along with a price of double + a private sale price, and stands behind it. The buyer gets an agreement of coverage which is, in a nutshell, rebuilt items are taken care of by the dealer for a reasonable time before it is customer's responsability. All other stuff is on the customer with varying levels of dealer support which is very good and fare.

Someone commented about not knowing what buyers put machines thru...

Some of you will remember my little tractor that I sold and the folks contacted me that the motor was shot after overheating (in 10 minutes).

My neighbor kid rebuilt the motor and put them back in business for a real good price and I paid for the parts...

FF (maybe 5 months) to Saturday, they told him the water pump was leaking and asked if he'd get one and replace it for them. He did and was paid good etc...

This is a 24HP tractor that should have a category 1 front loader. It has a Cat !! on it and I used it pretty extensively with a round bale on the loader and one on the 3PH with no problems/damage other than tuff steering.

Buddy said that the loader console was sprung with one of the mount plates cracked, steering rod banged/bent (console hitting it), and the fork ( loader arm?) sprung noticeably with the frt wheels/tires looking rough and bent....

Some folks just shouldn't operate equipment and there is good reason for no warrenty.......

Dave2,
It has been my Experience that inexperienced
tractor buyers/owners often let the price tag dictate there needs vs. What is best fit for the job.

Underbuying the size or condition of a tractor was the biggest regret by many buyers I talked to at the Dealer I worked for.

And yes, Some people are real hard on the Equipment.

Old dealer I worked for always wanted to give a 50/50 warranty. 50 seconds or 50 feet which ever happened first. LMAO He never did that but he really wanted to several times.

The biggest issue I have run into in recent years is that many people will just lie through their teeth to you when they are trading something in. The tractor/combine is in perfect shape when they traded it to you. Then when you tell a perspective buyer to contact the old owner then there is a list of stuff wrong with that "perfect" machine.
