Got my loader today... Feelin kinda guilty...

Got tired of looking for loaders and pretty much decided to go without. Last thing I expected was to find this one almost next door. Figuring ANY loader was better than no loader and the fact that I didn't have to drive all over the country to get it. I bought this one sight unseen... Never offered anything and insisted he think about it and get back with me. Told him the price he offered was on the low side. He said it was in the way and he knew where it'd be if he needed to borrow it... Paid him yesterday and picked up his tractor to take the brackets off and saw the loader for the first time... This thing is worth 5 times what he charged me for it...

Do I just appreciate it and make sure I'm available if he needs anything or go and offer him more money for it??? Taking a chance of making him feel like a fool and I have more money than I know what to do with and rubbing it in his face.....

Inever feel too bad about getting a good deal.I think he knows you'll give it a good home and if he really needs to use it,then its there.
Funny there's more loaders laying around here than you can shake a stick at.They are mostly 30 or more years old.

No...you already told him he was on the low side.If you want, buy him something that he'd appreciate as a gift. Make it a point it is in thank you for the loader. Maybe one of them dried Italian hams that cost a fortune. Proscuitto. Don't know a soul that doesn't like that. Well, there are some in the middle east...

Nope, you did enough by telling him he wasn't asking enough. After that, anything further could be mistaken for rubbing his face in it- he sounds like a "deal's a deal" guys, so let it go. And if he seldom had a need for it, the fact that he has "borrowin' rights" is worth something, too.

Sounds like he'll be a good guy to know- drop around once in awhile, maybe invite him and the Mrs. over for dinner sometime.

Giving him borrowing rights is enough. You've been honest enough to tell him the price is low so you've covered your bases. Jim
