John Deere b three point hitch???

I came across a 1950 John Deere model b with a fully functioning 3 point hitch. Is this original? Did they come from the factory with a 3 point hitch? If so what"s it worth?
 
Beter buy it if its factory as they are worth good money for just the three pt. The tractor without the three pt 1000-1500 or less depending on the tires.

No & NO. JD even recommended NO addition of a 3pt to JD "B" because of their lighter weight frt ends. First JD models to leave the factory with a 3pt hitch were the model "40" followed by the 20 series.
 
I'm not real up on my John Deere's, but couldn't a B have an 801 3pt hitch as an option? If so, I've heard they are valuable to collectors. I'm not stating facts, just thinking out loud.
 
Could be an 801, etc. They were available later. Yes, front end of B"s are light. But a 5" hog on an A w/ three point makes the A "interesting" too.

IIRC the 800,801 hitch was field installed not an option when ordering a letter series tractor from the factory.
 
Don't know the value. Husband said it would be an add-on. Not original, but makes the tractor awesome to use. (Son built the torch cart, got a grand champion at the fair. He is pulling the blade backward for smoothing.)

But he built one on our 36 B... loves it. He built it in such a way that it is easily removable from the tractor. Great for blading, moving elevator or augers, pulling fence posts,and he used to have a hog-mover he built for it. Obviously don't try to lift something too heavy with it, but it is great to use for a lot of things because it is small so makes it versatile.
