Son had a care meeting for me with the staff the other day He asked me not to attend. I do not know what waa said,BUT he has this thing about bossy women.(been divorced twice). next morning they wheeled in a new electric bed. What a night sleep. Sure glad I can text and send e-mail to him. He saw me stand and fight for my father back in 1978 o he learned well. I imagine he had both barrels load with info. gitrib

I'm glad things are working out for you.
You sound like my 91 year old Dad - He says things like " Now arn't you the chubby one" or " I guess I can't call you skinny"
I keep telling him to try and be nice. lol

When my mother in law was in the nursing home we had to really keep an eye on things. She would have just laid in bed and died if we hadn't been there and did what we thought she was paying for. She was in the hospital after a stroke for a while and when she went to the home, they said she had such bad bed sores. We thought surely at the hospital she would be well cared for but you never know. Keep em on their toes!

Glad they decided to take action. they know they could be in deep do do for not having you a bed in the first place.. I'm only guessing that you do have a caseworker ? That person is also your friend.
If you don't get satisfaction there then you have a right to file a complaint to the state level.
The people that are in charge of these homes does not like state involved, but sometimes the most mentally capable clients such as yourself may have to at one time turn in a staff member, or administration party for non compliance or abuse of either clients, or their personal needs. lots of things can be considered Abuse,( pretty standard in all states.)

You never know what will get them stirred up. My Mom broke her hip and went to the local home for recovery after surgery, the first morning the Aid came in and told her she had to get up and eat at 6:30. My Mom was 80 at that time and was Square Dancing 4 nights a week before the fall, she informed the Aid she would be up and having her meal at 10:30am and have the Administer stop for a visit at 12:00pm.(she ate when she wanted) She still goes to bed around midnight and gets up at 10:00, she is now 83 and at home.

I really feel fortunate. My dad fell and hurt himself at the end of January. Xray, MIR and finally a CT scan that showed a broken hip. Hip surgery went well and after some debate within the ranks of the physical therapists at the hospital they decided that he should go to a rehab facility for a few days. Originally they thought that he was good enough to just go home. I'm glad he went to rehab. It really helped him probably more with his confidence than physically but that part improved also. We had a fantastic facility with an awesome staff. I just can't say enough good about them. Tomorrow morning we check him out of there and he is heading home. He can't wait but knows that rehab was really good for him. I'm sure I will be in for a couple more night with he and my mom but that should be pretty short lived. He is 83 and can't wait to get back to taking care of his animals.

THANK GOD!!!
About5 months ago, my wife was let out of the hospital. They sent her to a"rest home", about a mile from home. Our youngest daughter was there when she arrived. She said "my mom will never spend one night in this place"! she was home in about i/2 hour. We live in an old mansion, and our daughter lives here too. We admit we would be "LOST" without her. And we tell her so constantly. I am only 79, and my wife is 73. I thank God always!!!

My mom is 83 and still able to get around very well. My son made the mistake of trying to mow the yard for her. My brother and I were standing by our trucks when she heard the mower start up. Got to laughing so hard at the two of them fighting over the mower. Almost fell down. Finally she slapped him on the back of the head and got the mower away from him.

To this day he tells everyone about the great lawn mower fight and how hard grandma can hit.
