OLIVER 1800 FRONT WHEEL ASSIST

WAS THERE EVER A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE PRODUCED EITHER OEM OR AFTERMARKET FOR AN 1800 OLIVER DIESEL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF ONE, BUT I AM NOT AN AUTHORITY. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS OTHER THAN A SHORT LEAP OFF A TALL CURB WILL BE APPRECIATED

yes, they started late in the 1800A series, there is a picture of one 3 or 4 pages back on the oliver site under the subject 550FWA. chuck

Yes, MFWD was available starting with very late model 1800 series A and every 1800, 1850, and 1855 thereafter. It had to be factory ordered, or at least ordered with the provision for later conversion to FWD (a special lower transmission shaft).
There was also a hydrostatic version on the 1850 series that was available for a while.

They did offer it and it was not that uncommon. There where several around me here in Iowa. Took an acre to turn them around in.
