My WD-45 Allis Chalmers

Hi

I have a problem with my tractor starting. I have no power from the distriber to the plugs I have eplaced everything and still nothing.

check for voltage at coil, then at dist, then inside dist at open points with a volt meter.one place to check good is the screw where wire runs through side of dist.if you do it in this order, problem will be either the last thing you checked,or the wire between. Points must be OPEN to do this.if you have voltage at points with them closed your points are not making contact, and either need to be cleaned or gap set.

Did you replace the condenser & rotor? If you installed new points take a cotton swab and dip it in alcohol and clean your points. Make sure your points are set at .020" when the rubbing block is on one of the lobes. Hal

#1 thing is you need to trouble shoot before putting on parts or you make the problem worse instead of better. Pull the cap/rotor and dust cover off. Turn on the ignition and by hand carefully open and close the points by hand. You should both hear and see a spark. The reason I say carefully is if you do it wrong you will find spark the hard way. If no spark then your points are installed wrong or you have a bad condenser or the insulator going in the side of the distributor is shorted out.
Now tell us the rest of the story so we have a clue as to why you just threw a bunch of parts at it
