NURSING HOME OOOD NEWS GRIPE

We had been careful in our decision for me to go into the Nursing Home. I have found out my wife is a very strong women to put up with things around her.I should have been here for her sooner. I nearly got thrown out one evening. They got the clot in the deep vein of her left leg to disolve with out incident. Thank the Lord and all who prayed for us.This was done at the hospital I have had trouble adjusting to the BS that goes on around this place.Cold Bath room with cold water. One of the aids was an angel and called the State Ombudsman to come and visit me. Things hit the fan and the next morn was a wonderful shower. Son had a meeting with powers that be yesterday over issues. Do not know what was covered but am sure that the cow knows how to eat the cabbage. After 6 months I am still sleeping in my lift chair.They have not provided me with a elecytic lift bed per Drs orders. Do not know what Craig got done. Doctor got me off ot those awful pain pills that made me have nigt mares That put me another world. Put me on pain patch changed every three days It really works and I am in control of my life for now. I cannot stand lyers an dishonest people. If you have to go make sure you have a family member resposible They do feed me well snd make sure I get my meicine on time.gitrib

From what pics I have seen of the inside of the Home you are at looks like may be putting on an upscale look without the proper services.

Things like cold showers & no bed for any of the residents should not be an issue in any of those aging facilities Even us old folks should get proper rest.

Your Dr. should be able to file a complaint for not complying to his orders.. bet you would be sleeping in a bed in less than 48 hours.

You are right Old Roy just put down a all new floor that is wood grained tore up a good tile floor & Carpet.Nothing homey about it. They hae trouble keepin aids because of the thing they pull on them. It is all follow the money. gitrib

Kind of sounds like the norm for a lot of nursing homes. Was guardian for my brother while in nursing home. The staff that took care of him was really great. The office, well, they wanted their money. Had to sell his farm. Don't do that over night. They charged me interest for delayed payment. That part I didn't like so much. He out lived his farm value by two months.

Been down that road with my mother-in-law. Fortunately the home was locally run and pretty good, and she had no assets for them to get anyway.

My Lady-friend is an LPN at a Nursing Home with VERY High Standards...they Always shoot for a "No-Demerit, NO Fine" STATE Inspection every year....
I wonder just how they can pass a State Inspection ( done every year ).
I would think they would NOT be pleased if the State Inspectors should happen to show up..and they CAN and will, if they are notified..
They is NO excuse for you to be treated that way..
Are there any other nursing Homes near there..?
You do have the rite to change Nursing Homes..

They are always built for a purpose,,,$ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $.Your care is just a hiccough on the road to accumulation.

Look at how many Nursing Homes are operated by the company running yours. My Mom was in one that had just one more home in their 'portfolio' and she was well treated by all. We got to know the manager as he went out of his way to make himself known and if we had any questions/problems, he wanted to know right away. Nearly ALL the employees were happy doing their work (I couldn't have done it) and my Mom finished her days there in as happy a state as could be expected. Dementia leading into Alzheimers finally robbed her of her life. Workers at these place must be Angels as there is little reward other than the residents families hugs. If you have a loved one at a home whose 'bottom line' is money, please know that there are great places that may not have a wonderful exterior, but are full of the love that God intended for us all.
