long 460

I have recently bought a Long 460 (#1529) and can't get the 3 point lift to work. Have changed the hyd. fuild and it still wants to jump and take forever to come up. Does anyone have any ideas how to get it to work?

You found the weak point of Long tractors.

We had a brand new 510 Longthat would not lift a 1200 pound bale of hay on the 3pt when brand new.

Dealer never could fix it.

That Long 510 tractor has the record for the shortest period of time on this farm for any tractor. 9 months.

For starters did you clean the strainer? Located below the starter. Remove two bolts and pull out and clean. Also check seal on this. Other wise the pump could be going out.

i didnt know that the long 460 had a strainer thank u i will try that and post results
