Case 530 CK backhoe engine.

Hi,
I posted a similar message on the ytmag Case discussion list. I thought I would try one here for help. I am considering purchasing a Case 530CK with a bad engine. A 188 diesel with a rod through the block.
I am located in the finger lakes region of NY.I would like to see if I can get a line on a decent engine either a runner or one that would work with a freshening up. So I am looking for an individual or business that I can go check out and/or purchase. Driving a few hundred miles is not an issue.
Any leads or help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the junker's down the road, You need a Case combine, like a 660 ( I can't remember their numbers) They will probably all be gassers, but the motor will be low hr. and cheap. The gov. are constant speed and will need to find a tractor gov. There is a ad in our local paper wanting to buy Combines and farm machinery. Those guys generally save the engines and hydro's. I just tell them what I want. Vic

Hi VicS,
You said "Follow the junker's down the road".
What do you mean by that? Is there some one in the area that may have something I can use? Or are you just generalizing?

I just ment go where they are selling the junk. If you tell the guys at home they will call if something you want comes in. Here is the no. of the combine junkers in our area Southern Il. Mike, 618 516 4301 or 618 919 0875 I hope these no. are still good. Vic
