years ago I puirchased a horse drawn mower at auction it has the name Ward on the seat spribg could anyone tell me something about this mower? did montgomerey Ward MAKE THIS MACHINE OR WAS IT MADE BY AN IMPLEMENT COMPANYU?

Montgomery Ward used to sell machinery made for them by BF Avery, maybe others . . .

Sears and Montgomery Ward never made anything but catalogues.

Everything was subcontracted...still is today,by
Sears..what you get was made by a "Low Bidder"
Think about that when you compare "Price" to
"Quality"
But It seems to me, that back in the "Old days"
there was some pride in selling quality product,
and anything we got from "Monkey Wards" was
pretty good stuff...I miss them!
I remember when you could buy a rebuilt Chevrolet
engine or transmission from "Wards".

Wrong,Sears had their own implement factories at one time.
