Intodeep.. scrapers for your floor project ??

I'll definitely remember that for future reference. We're sanding now. I've got some ancient laminate to pull up and I bet that scraper would be cat's meow. Thanks!

When you mentioned "ancient laminate"... just thought I'd share something. We pulled some out of our house a couple years ago. Underneath is a nasty black tar adhesive. We first bought some sort of adhesive remover at about $25 dollars per gallon. At some point we ran out, and husband just decided to try some Formual 409 mixed with water to at least try to clean it up somewhat for foot traffice until we got to town for more adhesive remover. Well the 409/water mixture cleaned it right down to the wood floor and even removed thick stuck-on parts of the flooring BETTER than the adhesive remover (and it smelled better than the adhesive remover too... and of course, the 409 cost a lot less money).

Mornin Kirk! I would say sanding is working. We scraped the other half after we got home from Menards last night. I didn't get to your advice soon enough and got an orbital sander. Kinda slow. Every so often we hafta pull the pads off and take off the glue. Just little strips of brittle brown crap. Flex the pad and it pops off. Got just about all the glue off working into the wee hours of this morning. Still some left in the low spots. 36 is the strongest they had. Need about negative 12 grit.

Hi Mrs. Feet! Thank you for that info. I will remember that when the time comes. Had to be a good feeling when you guys figured that out!

that 409 is some good stuff...first time i re-varnished my grandmothers hardwood floor, she brought out that 409 and sprayed it on floor and swirled it around with a broom...took shine rite off...after we mopped it and let it dry it was ready for new varnish.
