What do I do with this (pics)

A few years ago we bought this truck to put a different unit on the back. We dismantled the bucket truck part kept all hoses, wire looms, pto and manuals. Everything about the bucket truck part worked perfectly. We even used it a little bit before we dismantled it. Since then we've advertised the bucket truck body on craigslist and on a bucket truck website but there has been no interest in it. It's a real shame to scrap it but what do you do with it.

Is there any desire for these units or a better place to advertise it?

Well, I've often wished for access to a bucket truck for use on ham radio antennas and towers. With my friends around here, the thing would probably be in use 'bout every weekend. Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to feed and house such a beast.

Altec is a good unit. Try different web site to sell. Will have to be re certified for commercial use.

That is a great looking fabrication, Bet you have used many gallons of gas from the Sunoco at the bottom of the hill over there .. I hauled many gallon for them .

You could always put it in a Ritchie Bros. Auction ( or similar large industrial consignment sale). It would get widespread advertising and bidding and would likely net more than scrap price.

There are several of us interested Where are you located, do you have any way of loading it?

A friend took one like that an trailer mounted it. He then made ballast boxes for each side and filled them with sand. It makes the whole thing weight just as much as it did on the truck. He just hooks it to his tractor hydraulics and has a 7 pin electrical plug that provides all of the electoral needs. I have used it several times and it is real handy. It is nice not to have another power unit to keep going.

Yep, Altec's a very good brand. I'd think any number of small communities in your area would be proud to own that, for tree-trimming, utility work.

try auctiontime.com. things have been selling very well (sucks for a buyer). its dealer only, but there are people you can sell thru. i spoke with a gal in detroit who has sold 40 items.

Maybe you could rework it so as you could still be able to load it on that truck, latch it on and be able to use it. A double duty truck.
