Hey Dave, what did you end up doing with your horse poo as fert question? I forgot to mention that if you compost the manure it will help kill the weed seeds!

I turned down the piece of ground I was offered. Is a garden now and would have to be grass seeded, wait, then mowed (kinda tight spot).
And, I had these visions of doing the work then having the person decide they wanted to garden it again...... The local folks (farmers and a guy with greenhouses) are more than happy to get whatever the horses can produce.... Saves me a bunch of time.....

We don't clean pastures other than where they use one spot as a toilet. Just run the quad and a chain harrow to spread things out. Sometimes use a mulcher.
