Sorry I didn't think to put the tape measure by it for comparison the first time. I know snakes don't have skeletons but I don't see anywhere this thing had any legs. No hip bone.

Bet it"s the south end of a north bound Iguana think I see hip sockets and some vertebra towards the back are upside down

have you thought of taking it to a Paleontologist for identification.

I was wrong. I thought snakes were invertabrates. Ain't the first time won't be the last. My wife said something about taking it to a vet and see what they say. Looking at the pic of the cat John M posted, I think that is what it is.
