serial no.?

The way I understand there are only 499 6040 allis sent to the usa what is the first serial?I have 394 and 500 wondering if 500 is the end?

I looked in two books they both show just one year 1974, but no serial numbers. So you could have some rare tractors.

My book shows they were built in 74 and 75, but no serial numbers. That's during the period Allis was being split up and sold off to other manufacturers. If I remember right, that tractor series was built in Romania.

Wasn't the 6040 a 160 with newer sheet metal? The 160 was built in France by Renault.
