kubota L4310 hesitates between gears

Hi all, My best bud just bought a L3410 kubota with GST transmision. Its WAY too new for me to know much about. It hesitates between gears when you shift to the point that when going up a hill in a lower gear it will roll back a foot or two before the next gear engages. I assume it shouldn't do this. Is there a possibility that a tranny filter could cause this??? any help would be greatly appreciated. It has around 700 hours and has been used mostly to mow. It also has a backhoe which we hope to put to good use.

Thanks all

I have a 2001 L3010 with GST. Your description sounds like how mine has always run from new. I guess it shifts a little faster with the oil warmed up.

My L35 does the same thing... Pretty aggravating, but probably 'normal'... I usually find a gear that I can stay in and just don't shift it that much...

thanks for the feedback. I was hoping it was normal. So far its a great little tractor, hoping it meets all his needs ( and mine ) lol
