I like to hang a few pics now and then and look up old friends/classmates... The classmate thing really gets me goin.... Kinda like a "I did what?"...

Easier to get around the coffee shop crowd and have a discussion without someone hijacking it also.....

Think I accepted it...

just a warning... My short term memory sucks, so putting real names and handles together is a real chore for me.. Don't be offended if I mix you up.....

I have been on FB for close to 2 years and I like it. It keeps you in contact with classmates, family, and other friends. I like sources like FB and I like this site as well. I learn alot.

Facebook is the number,1 source of IDENTIFY THEFT
and..recent news reports say: Employers are
using it to "Screen" prospective applicants, and
disqualify them from consideration..because of
stupid or immature stuff on Facebook!

(quoted from post at 06:50:16 02/22/12) YOU will NEVER see a Professional person on Facebook, ( or Twitter ) it's just another way of getting into your personal life and open to the public not a smart move.

I must be associated with a bunch of unsuccessful idiots then.... Knew them folks weren#t right..... Neat thing about facebook tho, the cowardly village idiots can't chime in anonymously.......

Thanks for the input tho....

Exactly why you don't put out personal info and don't say things you wouldn#t say to someone's face or in an interview.... As with all things in life, it works on that 2% rule... You gotta be at least 2% smarter than anything you are working with/using....... If not, just stay in the tinfoil box......

Yesterday I caught wind about a secretary at a local business posting a not so good and untrue remark about a customer on Facebook. Customer's name wasn't mentioned but it was blatantly unethical nonetheless. This is midwest small town stuff so everybody knows everybody else and names can be figured out quickly. Don't these people realize the implications of posting this stuff to the whole world? Nuff said!!!!!! Jim

some people shouldn#t be left alone with a toothbrush..... let alone something like the internet

(quoted from post at 07:09:42 02/22/12) While I have a facebook account I seldom look at it.......guess I'm anti social.

Rick

You'd be surprised at all the old army buddies that turn up..... Course.... reading and the internet could get pretty challenging to a bunch of DATS so it may not do you much good

Just kiddin .......

Facebook serves as a daily reminder of why I left home and only visit unannounced with always an excuse to leave........

Dave, I just sent you a request. Also, if I could have your credit card numbers and date of birth, I'm having trouble finding it on your fb info page. Thanks!

That's cause you grunts were none to bright.......couldn't even figure out that it's way easier to ride a weapon that to carry one.......ROFL!

Rick

I cancelled my Facebook account last year. Too much of a PITA.

Besides, why should any bonehead who knows how to turn on a computer have access to all that information about me? Also, if you read the advice columns, half the letters are about somebody who did or didn't do something on Facebook.

91A10 here and I got to ride. ...and spent the year pestering the motor pool guys for parts for a dang heater that never worked in my 113. Thought I'd be smart and got reassigned a deuce and a half and wouldn't you know it. No passenger window!

I still remember the night we had a black out drive for 6 hours and I had a Katusa wrapped up in a blanket next to me as I froze trying to stay awake behind the wheel. ahh the memories.

That's the problem.... to many boneheads have enough sense to turn on a computer but it stops right there.... Folks only get the personal info you put out..... makes ya wonder who the bonehead is huh???

LOL I remember those cold days in the land of smells like s***......and the Katusas. Darn long road marches whit half your body sticking out of the hatch on a tank. And those darned fuel heaters in the PC's and Tanks.

Rick

Yep, waking up in a PC where everything you touch is cold and then trying to get the dang heater primed and started. lol. By the time you got it lit and you got your fart-sack zipped back up, you'd be dang near in convulsions from shivering.

Yeah, between the rice paddies and the kimchi breath, wasn't to many pleasant smells over there.

All said and done though, I met some good folks over there.

Date it a little, we still had gamigoat ambulances when I got there (1/9 at Camp Greaves).... thought soldiers were soldiers til I got over there and ran in to tankers for the first time...Couldn't behave themselves for nuttin... Us in the grunt family always hadda babysit and spank em when they got outta line....

LOL you wsh you was spanking em.....

We never had too much problems with the grunts but the supports guys were another matter.....and yea we did raise a little he77.

I remember setting in a nite defence position, rain mixed with snow and those grunts banging on the tanks (M1's) and begging us to start the engine so they could get a little heat off of that turbine.

I"ve done facebook for a couple of years, but I have learned two things:

1. It"s more or less a place where friends can share every piece of "junk mail" in their lives.

2. A lot of people use it to trash others and spy on people.

Yes, it"s a cool place to meet and talk with old friends who aren"t close, but sometimes it just opens cans of worms you never would have touched otherwise.

I did facebook in the past. It didn't work for me. To much privacy invading. If I am forced into using it in the future, because everyone is on it. I will sign up and upload NOTHING (info, photos) to the site, and use it to look only.

Be careful. Somehow on facebook, they get you saying things you never said and doing things you never did and living in places you never lived. Also befriending people you don't even know or don't like. HOW?????? dave

I'm on it, ole blu got me started. Our kids are on it and it's easy to keep up with kids and grandkids. Have some tractor buddies on it and the tractor club I belong to has a facebook page. I don't post much, just look and see what everyone else is doing. Chris

Gotcha!!! I believe Coach Hall passed away a few years ago but could be wrong.

Before I go in for that stuff I will be off the net and cell phone completely. Like this board and email is good enough for me.

(quoted from post at 09:43:06 02/23/12) Now you know some folks on here won't like the pic you posted a while back 'bout religon!!
