OT:pituitary tumors, any one ever had?

Guy that I work with has one. He has been taking medicine for a year and he says it's slowly decreasing in size. His is benign. It changed his personality for a time.

Had one and had it removed by surgery. Was in the hospital for three days during recovery. The surgery went well and wasn"t that bad. If you want particulars you can e-mail me and I"ll be happy to tell you about the surgery and what to expect.

I have one. It was found over 15 years ago after I started hallucinating because of the seizures I was having. Started out almost the size of a softball. 2nd biggest the surgeon had ever seen (and a well traveled/respected one on the west coast). Mine completely covered a lot of critical things so the option of surgery was out. I was put on a heavy dose of Bromocryptine mesolate. The high doses did have some side effects with personality (aka I wasn't the nicest person to be around - grumpy, depressed, OCD). Lower doses aren't bad. After about 3 years it was reduced to the size of a pin head. After going off the meds 4 years ago it hasn't grown back (which has amazed the docs - but I am not complaining). The tumor fubared a few other things, so I will be on meds for life, but it is a whole lot better than the alternative.

Feel free to drop me an email and I can answer more questions.

Removed alot of them, once someone has been on the Bromo they are alot harder to remove, they become stuck to surrounding structures.
