Case IH 5130

I am thinking of buying a CaseIH 5130. It would be used just around the farm for light duty, as I am retired. The toughest job would be blowing snow. Does anyone know if their reverse is slow enough for use with a rear mounted snowblower? Anyone have experence with these tractors?
Thanks

A little. I bought a 5230 MFWD, 4x4 semi power shift fixer-upper last fall. Spent a lot of time on it in my shop, as well as about $9000 so far! I plan on pulling a sprayer @5MPH with it. Low gear is so slow I'll never use it. Not even sure I'll use 2nd.

The 5100 and 5200 series tractors have reverse gears that are higher geared than the corresponding forward gear, not sure by how much... 20% maybe, so 5mph in whatever gear that is forward would be 6 mph in reverse... if you find a tractor with a creeper box that will give you slower gears... The only time we"ve used ours on a blower (admittedly very deep snow) we struggled to go slow enough.
The other option is to use the 1000 pto shaft and run the tractor at about 1300rpm to give 540rpm pto (but you"d need to change the end on the the snowblower shaft)

I have a 5140 4x4 4 gear power shift, and it works excelent on our 8 foot snow blower, Bruce
