Area calculator

I was using this to estimate out a space for a horse pen...

Look up your address, put it on satellite mode and zoom in. You can map out spaces and it will tell you how many acres it is.

Another is the NRCS web soil survey. It is a bit more difficult to get through, but it can calculate areas, and so much more. It is what many govt agencies use to figure land use, for septics and livestock yards and such, with the different soil types listed. Quite a wealth of knowlede.

As well as calculation acres in an area.

NRCS Web Soil Survey

That is a very good site, I have used it several times to get soil maps and figure out CSR's for farms for sale or rent. Also used it to figure out acres of fields that I custom combine and such to see how honest the farmer is.

Well, I'm not having much luck. When I Google gravoplex, Google says it can't find the site. The free map tools, I got it to come to my place and marked around the field, but the pop up at the bottom of the page blocked out the area. I tried the SCS site, I can get it to my place, but when I try to go around the field, the area shown is smaller than the area I want to measure. Hope the rest of you have more luck than I am. Instead of Goggling gravoplex just highlight (http://www.gravoplex.com/Planimeter/GMapPlanimeter.html) and right click on it and click on "open link".

if you just pull up google planimeter, you'll see that it is pretty much the same as mosof the others. Think planimeter may have a topography feature added too (??)..
