OT:Baby sleep experts: whats wrong in USA

Saw a National news feature this week about couples that "need to hire a baby sleep expert" to help them put their baby in bed without rocking it to sleep. This dumb azz tells them to put baby in bed with a blanket amd a stuffed toy and they may cry for a while. AND THEY GET PAID FOR THIS Now you know why the USA is so screwed up!! Yup, you need a license to own a dog but not to have a child!

a good way to get a baby to go to sleep is to get an electric heating pad and warm the mattress up first then (remove heating pad) Then put the baby in the crib and they go right to sleep, usually. It worked for us when my son was a baby. Or.....Just let the kid cry it out.

I have a 10 month old and its amazing the "professionals" that come around to you when you are in the hospital right after birth. The one person was a baby massage specialist. The hospital sends her around to give a brief intro, then you can sigh up for a class. She told us how to give our baby a massage. She told us to rub his belly in a clockwise manner because it stimulates the digestive tract. Not a counterclock wise motion, but a clockwise motion. Now every time I get the runs I tell my wife I must have over stimulated my digestive tract by rubbing my belly clockwise...

I'd say people watching too much TV is a more serious problem than somebody who gets dummies to pay for something they can figure out on their own. Turn off Jerry Springer and you'll be a lot happier.

Reminds me of the guy on tv saying he can teach you how to make your kid behave. With his lesson plan. My father taught me real fast and he didn't need no lesson plan.

Think for themselves? What's that? Oh wait, I think I can figure it out on my own.......www.google.com/thinkformyself....
Ahhh, here we go....got it.......thanks! LOL

Rubbing your belly too fast clockwise causes the runs.
Rubbing your belly too fast counterclockwise causes you to puke.
Your only two options are to 1. slow down the rubbing motion or 2. rub your belly and pat your head at the same time.
I know it works cuz I saw it on TV. Dr. Phil, or Jerry Springer or someplace like that!

We've mastered the art of dealing with the tiny little ones. Now we just have to learn how to deal with the teenagers living in our house! LOL!

We have a 5 month old. So far she's been great sleeps threw the night, some of these people want kids but don't want to be a parent. They need someone else to tell them what to do. Dosent surprise me!

problem with today's people/kids is that they don't ask Mon and dad about how/what they did about something,,,,they look to the government hired professional to tell you what to do,, wounder why our taxes are so ----high,, if we did something wrong in our youth, we tough it out and coped with it,,now days, kids need guidance counselors when they sneeze...i agree, where is this world coming to..

Wow, you are lucky. My son didnt sleep through the night until he was a year old. He had colic/reflux. Seeing your baby boy projectile vomit up a bottle of formula is horrible, and I got to wear it a few times.
