just bouhgt a 1550 oliver. Its suppose to have a 1650 cockshutte engine in it. i need to know where the s/n is on the engine block is so i can order the right fuel filters and other engine parts for it. thanks for any and all help.

I'd be suspicious of anybody saying it was a 1650 engine. They're an inch longer behind the rear motor mount than the 1550 engine. They use a different PTO shaft and I don't even know what the difference is in the chain coupler sprockets to put a 1650 engine in one. It might be more work that you'd think to change one.
Now do you want the casting number to know which engine it is,or serial number
Casting number is above the starter, serial,I think,is stamped in a flat spot by the alternator.
