My cat was doing a lot of sleeping the last two day's. He sleeps a lot just a little more than usual now. This morning I could something was wrong he was licking his fanny, and was not normal looking. I tok him to the vet and found out he had a urinary blockage, and needed a cahteter to drain the blatter. I had to leave him over night. The kids are gone, and it's just the wife a dog, and the cat in the house now. Sure miss the little guy. Stan

I know how you feel. They become a much loved part of the family.Steve

Both my parents cat at age 6 or so (now age 15) and my cat last year had kidney stones now 6 years old. The vet advised hills science diet cd food. I am happy to say that both cats have not been back to vet for stones.

Mine is reaching up to remind me she is right here on the floor, why not scratch my back with that arm you have!!!??? I am ready!!
We lost one this late summer that was with us for 17 years. Yours will be fine, the process is usually a good cure, not just temporary. Jim

While I have a little appreciation of the closeness to an animal, I can't get too mushy....sure as H a lot easier to replace than my son or wife! Just keep perspective, my friend.

Our barn cat came to the door of the house one winter night when her twin sister got mauled to death by something. Been in and out ever since.
More loyal than most anyone I know. Follows me me around most the time and sleeps in the crook of my arm about every night.
I have put down cats that were old and or sickly. So never in my wildest dreams would I ever think that I would plunk down 750 dollars to save this cats life. But I did a year and a half ago!
Here she is about to get her first lesson from the goose.

I have 2 cats, one 7 and one 16. The 16 year old is doing ok, she has some kidney problems. I got her from a shelter when she was 6 because somebody dropped her off there because they wanted a dog?? Well she has been the best friend as a cat that I have had, and I have had many cats. I know she won't be Here much longer, prolly have to dig a hole and put her down by spring. I just watch her day by day. I hope everything goes good for you, it's not only a cat!!!! It's ur friend. Nothing wrong with a having a friend.

My little guys are dogs, but I have to admit
when they worm their way into your heart,
ALL previous denials go out the window,
(don't they) ! ?
Bob
God Bless

This ones name is 'Goody'She would ride/sit on my shoulders as long as I would let her.I cried when I found her body-hit by a car,she had followed me across the road.I still miss her.

Better put a comma after wife or YOU may be outside howling.

I have 4 of the mutts,2 jack Russels, Blue heeler, and Ridgeback cross, and she gets that way sometimes.

Hi Jay, lost a 7 year old siamese male to kidney failure four years ago. The house was so empty so within two week we had to get a cocholate point male siamese kitten. I tell my wife that the house is his and he lets us live there because he likes us and we feed him. MJ

We had one that we took in as a stray that looked just like yours. Was blind in one eye but was always near me and when I sat down would be on my chest. I sure do miss her.

The vet tell you what the problem is? We had that with our cats, partcularly the males, seems the "ash" in the food causes the longer tracts to plug up. After we changed to Science Diet we no longer had the problem.

Here's my little tyke. Name's Goliath. Or Golly G. Whiskers or just Golly. 'Started out calling him Samson like the tractor but changed it. 'Bout half-grown now. Had to make him an outside cat once he got big enough, but he's still my buddy! I'm glad everything is working out with yours.

I found a kitten in a ditch. Thought I would bring it home just until I could find it a home.Well it has been four months now. The cat and the dog play together everyday and sleep together. About the only time the cat will come near me. Is for food or to sleep in my lap. Then I am not allowed to move until she wakes up.Amazing how they can grow on you.

Hope your wife doesn't find out you called her a dog.

Here's our neighbor's cat Mobi. He came around looking for a bite to eat and to play with our black male cat. He would stay overnight at times. We told the owners they shouuldn't let that cat out along a busy roadway. On Dec 5th he was hit by a car and was killed. They have three children and they were broken hearted. Here are pics of Mobi. hal

I dont know what I'd do without these guys, Critter and Sebastian, my two boys. Both rescues, Critter we found in an abandoned building nearly dead of thirst, Sebastian just wandered in one day. Got a few more outside. My one real indulgence, I adore my cats.

Here's one we took at Xmas of one of my buddies, Elsie Mae. Not sure but I think that look says "I will be killing you soon, man"
People are great pets for cats...

BTDT a few weeks ago with one of our cats. He's ok now after being catheterized, but he was at the vet's for 9 days, before he was ok to come home, and he's on the science diet CD food for cats with urinary problems. He's also on diazepam for the rest of his life, because it relaxes the bladder spincter enough to pass crystals that accumulate. I don't mind, the drugs are cheap, and I can always put some in the wife's coffee when she starts in on me......

Ask your Vet if you can give them vitamin C - it was recommended to me several years ago when my buddy had the same issue. Higher acid helps dissolve the crystals.

A couple of the house-cats here at the farm.

"Peanut", the white tom cat, showed up one night at the patio door.

He was almost a handful and sure was glad to see me.

"Pearl", the tabby female, was somehow lost and forgotten by her momma a couple of days after she was born.

Nancy fed the tiny kitten with an eye dropper.

Both are pedigree lap cats.

That orange and white one looks just like my buddie we had to put down before Christmas. He was around 16, and had a good life. Miss the guy. Stan

Animals are real nice. Good companions. I like cats and dogs, but due to wife's extreme allergies, cannot have either anymore Sure miss them little guys. Blessing from their creator. Dave
