hours on Chevy engines

not wanting to butt in on the thread about Chevy 3500 trucks, I thought I'd
start a new one.
Some time back someone told me how to check engine hours on a Chevy truck, but getting old and stupid I forgot. Would someone please refresh me
on this.

Well in my 03 silverado it is just another step in
the odometer/trip odometer. Just keep pushing the
button thing and hours will display.
 
With the key in the off position, push the button and hold. First the total miles will display, then the number of hours on the engine.
 
my 2001 2500HD silverado has hour meter. Push stem & hold for 4 secs., will display for 30 secs. with key in OFF position.

My 2002 z-71 is showing 114,000 miles,and 3012 hrs. I had a 2001 that had
4500 hrs at 75,000 miles, but it came from a ship yard owner and had
idled more than it had run.

Thats only 20 miles per hour. Man you guys drive slow!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
my 2000 2500 4x4 LS has 3300 hrs on 120,000. Dunno what to make of all that info.
