Kubota buying Vermeer??????

Has anyone heard of japan's kubota buying vermeer? I did not know that vermeer was in trouble. Did not if there is any truth to it or only a rumor.

I don't know anything about this particular merger, but I do know a company doesn't have to be "in trouble" to be bought or sold. All's it takes is a few rich investors to decide they can make MONEY.

Kubota just bought Kneverland so I doubt they have the capital to swing Vermeer as well. Maybe in a year or two if the Kneverland purchase goes well.

I don"t know if this is true but i hope someone buys them they should be in trouble since they do not want to even give any info on parts on machines they made etc. they havn"t been cooperative on anything we have tried to get answers on we have a ditcher and need pinion and ring gears and they are no help at all

That's what happened to Oliver back in the day. The Mailman brothers bought controling interest and turned a quick profit selling it to White Motors. The rest,as they say,is history.

Love 'em or hate 'em, in this computer age, there's no longer a need to wonder about anything for more than a few seconds. Googling Vermeer Kubota yields 3,880,000 hits, and the information that they have formed a "strategic alliance" (rough translation- Kubota will be selling Vermeer products).

After buying Kverneland, and with the hookup to Vermeer, it sure looks like Kubota is making a run at becoming a "full line" dealer. They've certainly got the dealer network for it.

Looks like kubota is joining in with veermer for financing, so you could buy a tractor and baler or something and finance it threw kubota. Just google kubota buying veermer and u can read about it.

I might be wrong but I thought I read in progressive farmer magazine over a year ago that Vermeer and Kneverland had already merged.

I think that is where all the other groups like Mahindra and the Koreans are weak. They don't have a strong dealer network. Kubota is trying to build a strong dealer network. Interestingly, one loca Case / IH dealer is also a Kubota dealer.

I know of at least 2 or 3 Case-IH dealers that are also Kubota dealers.

Well having been a KUBOTA dealer for over 28 years ..I have come to realize they have money and can do ABOUT what they want.Couple of things in play here, first about three years ago when Vemeer was working with McCormic to market their tractors Kubota went to Land Pride ( Great Plains) and tried to get something going could,t get it bought. The thinking was would get a lot of good implments . Kubota now has it,s own Loader plant in Georgie and needs the Veemer Hay equipment. They will start with that Finance agreement but if things work out money will flow.
One of the companys stated goals 5 years ago was to become stronger in the construction market so the vemere thing would also help there. who knows will just wait and see..Also realize they are the leadre in asian combine market and dealers are just waiting for that move to USA.

I don't know anything about this merger. I hope if this is in fact true that Kubota doesn't get involved with anything design or mechanics of Vermeer or they will go to crap. Vermeer I think is pretty good quality products now.

I don't own a Kubota, but I've been around a few. I've even transported a few as well as assisted with some uncrating and pre-assembly of new products, and I firmly believe that Kubota quality is second to none.
