bio- diesel

So what makes you think it isnt safe to use even the mighty JOHN DEERE tractors leave the factory with it in the tank.

(quoted from post at 20:44:45 02/05/12) is there anyway to determine if bio-diesel is safe to use

It produces a known cancer causing exhaust, NOX, and it doesn't flow well in cold weather. A lot of these deisels will burn about anything if you can get it thru the injector.

What are you wanting to use BD in? Both FOrd and GM say no more than 20% BD in certain engines, 5% in all others. The reason is entrained moisture. Poerstroke and Duramax will run fine on 100% BD, but over time, the BD will breakdown any rubber fuel system parts and the added moisture will cause rust.

Well sir, apparently you are aware of "Carl's Corner" down I-35 South of Waxahachie, TX. That bill board of his, of the 18 wheeler was there back in the late '70's and is still there today....sorta weathered.

Regardless, Willie is an American Icon and I am proud to play his albums and my misses had rather listen to this pot smokin, singing thru his nose, long haired half shirtless, hippie with beads, than any thing else on the market......I tend to agree with her.

"The Train Named the City of New Orleans".....one of his many classics.

I sure am proud you didn't go to bragging on Willie's acting talents(or lack of talent). Willie's half-brother Charles did live about 2 miles from my house until he died a few years ago.

maybe i didn't ask the question in the right way, what i was concerned about was moisture content, alkali's,particulates ect.,like of lube properties or contaminates that will stop up a filter system or worse go through it and cause hose, seal or other injection system damage, this isn't bio willie type guess it would be labeled home brew unblended

The story we are being told is that is better for older equipment than the new low sulfur diesel that is forced on us. People have been using used cooking oil for 20years . I'm sure there are web sites that can give you some info.
