I put hyd oil in the torque tube when the tractor is running thr oil foms and comes out the vent on top of the torque tube. If I take the fill plug out the oil stops comming out. Specifs call for #10 oil. I am useing the wrong oil? I put two gal of oil in tube .
 
I would assume you have the engine mounted pump since you have hydraulic oil in the torque tube. Don't understand the foaming unless there is a restriction in the system. That is what I run in mine and have not had any problems. Did you get the steering working with the different gears? Lee
 
Lee; The gears worked fine,no problem installing.I don,t think there is a restriction in the system. When the clutch is in drive shaft is not turning oil will not from,let out the clutch drive shaft turning oil froms. I don't have a cly. on system. I will remove the cap on the valve to be sure oil is goig through system. We had the valve apart and cleaned it.
 
The only thing on that shaft is a gear that is about 3" in diameter that powers the belt pulley. It should not create much foam. Still sounds as if you are not getting good circulation. Have you chacked the filter? Lee
 
Lee; Our tractor has no filter. I have a ram that I will conect to the out put side of the valve to be srue the valve is working. May take the valve apart again.
