Changed oil on the McCormick C 70, at about 8 quarts noticed two tiny cut-outs on the edge of the dipstick. Oil was between these notches. Since then, got a manual which said 7.9 liters. After starting & filling filter, it needed about a half quart.

I was wondering that when I read your post the other day. Notches or a small hole in the stick. Several machines I've seen had those, but usually had a stamping on the stick to indicate what they were. Live and learn.

If you take a file and use the conner of it and make a couple of stroks acrosse the flat of the dip stick it will be a lot easier to see.
