OT winter storm warning

Seems we in Omaha and surrounding may just be paying dearly for the mild winter we had! They just changed from a winter storm watch, to a warning-7 to 11 inches of heavy, wet snow with 15 to 30 mph winds.

Don't send it this way! We are just supposed to get
rain, but back "home" near Hebron, NE my sister is
also in the warning. We are both on US Hwy 136, so
anything that comes straight across always gets me
400 miles later. DOUG

I woke up to 16 inches of the white stuff this morning, and they
say another 4-6 inches over night.

My brother near Omaha says he has no frost left in the ground and the ground is very dry. He has been watering bushes and trees for several weeks already. A wet snow in this warm weather should almost all soak into the ground slowly over the next week. That should help some to replenish low ground moisture levels. Your snow could be a blessing in disguise, drive safely.

Around here some lakes are closed to vehicle traffic and ice rinks built over flowing water are being shut down because of dangerously thin ice. It sure is a strange year for weather!

I pruned grapes and apples today standing in mud and water, temp about 40. Usually it's 6-12" of snow and 15F. Crazy winter, wish it'd freeze up.

Yep winter is not over till the fat lady sings. Here in Missouri we are getting rain and a good bit of it but could turn bad like it was last year but they say it will not. But yes back when I lived in Leigh NE I remember having snow on the ground from Nov. till late March but seems them days are gone

#1. 1932 +7.8 degrees...
#2. 2002 +6.5 degrees...
#3. 1906 +5 degrees...
#4. 2012 +4.8 degrees.
We could pass 1906 if we keep at our current mild trend

Guys,,Yes we have a winter Storm Warning too for Central Texas .....Today we had a High Of 80* and tomorrow a low of 60* after the front hits, with a sight chance of some scattered showers! Sorry Guys just had to throw that in. We slept with the doors open last night and tonight too. Hopefully Y'all will warm up soon.
