Bad Deere !

Sgt. Gary Phillips of York Regional Police told the Toronto Star's Wheels.ca police believe someone started the tractor on purpose, put it in gear and left the scene.

He told the National Post they have no suspects and the damaged caused is expected to "be in the thousands.

Ya think? Brilliant police deduction.

Yep, saw the same video, on world's dumbest, last night. Worlds dumbest, is a refreshing ascension, from watching an external_link speech!

I bought a 7' box blade about 5 years ago for $200. It was only maybe 2 years old, however one corner of it was bent and crushed, needed repairs.

Owner shared, mowing his field which was sloped, saw his dog get into a nest of baby rabbits and thought he could save them, stopped the tractor got off and ran after the dog. Saved the rabbits, turned around and saw his tractor rolling down the hill about 300 yards into his barnyard, over his box blade, crushed the corner of a manure spreader and through the wall of his barn. The tractor was repairable,,, while working on it he fixed the parking brake!

Clearly from this video John Deeres are more dangerous than a N series Ford now. Not only does this John Deere have a mind of its own, it has a disdain for vehicles and a Wal-mart building too.

Made my buying decision easier. I was going to buy a Deere, now is a Ford N.

Wildest I ever did was drive the 50 in high gear through a shopping mall one Sunday afternoon. Given all the circumstances it wasn't as reckless as one may think.

This happened here in San Diego, about 20 years ago, except it was a army tank. This guy was smaching cars and everything else in it's path. The only thing that stopped him was he got hung up on a cement freeway divider. Stan

I liked the part when the police cars were trying to chase it ... LOL I saw it on worlds dumbest too so I youtubed it .. longer version shown there .

I saw that with the cops too. They would have been better off just clearing out the spectators. Deere was going a bit too fast for someone to attempt to jump on and shut it down. At least until it was stopped by that light pole.

Thought was was with a M60 tank in Mannheim Germany in the 1970's? Iirc the solder got a dear John letter, requested and obtain a firing pin for the main gun on the weekend. He hung the tank up on a road divider and knocked a track off. The cops were pretty excited and thought the tank could still travel on on track. They yanked the hatch open and emptied thier sidearm down and around inside. There still maybe video of the event somewhere. Wondering if some unsanctioned tank driving has happened more than once?

Trying to jump into a moving tractor from the side is a VERY bad idea. One misstep, you are dead.

Property can be replaced. Life can't.

Had it not finally hit something solid enough to stop it I would have grabbed the standard police issue 12 gauge shotgun and went for the injector pump with steel shot. DOUG

Actually that happened but not the correct story. Guy (SSG) did get a dear john from his wife. Took the tank (full combat load of main gun ammo on board), ran over some stuff on his way to the East German border so he could "kick the Soviets butt" and then could go home to save his marriage. He was very drunk at the time. He sobered up enough to know he was screwing up big time and just stopped in the middle of a bridge that was blocked by a few cop cars. It was right after that the Army required that the main gun firing pins had to be stored in the arms room and could not be left on the tanks. I was stationed in Germany when this happened and a tank crewman. Another in 82 went on a "tour" of Mannhiem then drove the tank into a river drowning himself. The one that got hung up was in Ca.
