Ground hog in Pa

Just thought I would let everyone know that there will be 6 more weeks of winter. The ground hog saw his shadow this morning. I am glad he didn't see his shadow because spring would then be just around the corner and who knows how long that would be? A month and a half probably??

(quoted from post at 06:46:36 02/02/12) I'll welcome more winter this year here in Missouri! Sunny and 60 isn't too bad!

Same thing up here in southwest Iowa. What does that groundhog know anyway?

Around here in western NY its been more spring than winter all winter long. As far a the ground hog goes, I think the same thing that applies when he is in our hay fields should apply to his weather predicting ability.

I'm north of the 45 parallel and we have been in the 40's this week, I think the rodent is wrong how can we worry about winter being over when it hasn't really started yet? TV weather dude is telling us our snowfall is about half of normal and about 33% of what it was at this time last year.

I always heard that if he sees his shadow, we get 6 more weeks of winter. If he doesn"t we only get a month and a half more.

You have that right! Here in eastern NY we hardly had a winter so far, I can't believe how mild the temps have been!

Yeah, dragged outta his electrically heated burrow to face the flash cameras before dawn.. Betcha when he woke up a bit he was a bit feisty. Woodchucks bite, don"t you know?

Wife sez she saw him on the noon news, and it didn"t look like the same critter as last year.

Tell the people in Pauxatunia,Pa [sorry about the spelling] that the ground hog does no good. With about 30,000 people in town that day partying and spending money. There's not much in that town to do otherwise. Nice people in that little town though.
