General ??? How does Cabbage and brusselsprouts grow? Better ?? is how do you get the seeds? Do you have to buy them or do they go to seed and you can collect your own? garden spots all around town areall prepared/cleaned out in fall but all the plots belonging to the Russians have a head of cabbage and a stalk of brusselsprouts left in them... Just wondering why that is..... Ask here and just get a shoulder shrug......
 
My grand mothers would leave some of the cabbages over winter with some cover so they would set seed the next year.
 
Plant Brussel sprouts early - and a LOT of them. They take a long season to grow, and aren't afraid of a little cool weather. I planted them late one year, and was picking sprouts in the snow...
