Neighbor came home leaving a trail of antifreeze and we have narrowed it down to a L shaped tube that extends up from the rear of the manifold. It is loose, but we cannot see whether it is just loose or broken. He has ordered on for 23 dollars at the local Ford garage. Does anyone know what we are getting into? Tips? Scanned Repair Manual Pages? We are still trying to figure out whether the manifold needs to come out. Any tips are welcome.

Ohh boy. If it's the same as a 95 you are about to have some fun. It's a metal tube with a short piece of hose on each end. There's a tube coming from the backside of the waterpump that the hose go's on in the front. You can barely see it. The manifold has to come off to replace it. It's been several years since I replaced mine so I can't offer any tip's but it was a pain in the backside.

Pulling that manifold isn't as bad as it lookes, changed a few on cars, most have trouble after getting them hot. The manifold cracks in front on the water crossover, in that case, napa sells a new one with an alum crossover. Before you start, get the air blow gun and blow the area free of stuff, take your time, you'll be supprised how quick you are done.
