Tractor Tire Chains

To all you tractor buffs out there. I have an Allis-Chalmers CA with 12.4 X 24 tires. Am located in upstate NY.....am in need of a decent set of tire chains for use in my sugarbush. Do not want something that is beyond repair, but would like something that is used.
Appreciate the help. Thanks

Google south fork hardware. They have the best price, on chains, IMHO. Then, at least you know what a set of new chains would cost you, and know what to pay for used.

I have a perfect set of good used one off of a C allis. Send me your E-mail and I can send pictures. $100 plus shipping.
See ad #459455 on here. These are for the truck tire, but, I have the tractor one also.
Thanks
Gary

I have a set of tire chains I would like to sell, I got them with some stuff in a barn I cleaned out, but how do I tell what size they are? Located in PA.

I have a decent set of "ring" chains that were allegedly used on a Ford 9N. The centermost rings are worn about a third through.
These are not "double" ring chains but are the single "twisted" ring style.
There are only 10 cross chains which makes me think they might have been too short for a Ford 9N wheel altho the guy I bought them from said that he had used them on his Ford.
They might be about right for your 24" tires. $75 picked up at my place 10 miles south of Cobleskill.

I have one tire chain that measure 13" x 83" for $15, can ship for $12 in a flat rate box. I think it will fit your tire but I'm not certain.

If you have a lot ice or snow I would buy new chains. Hal
PS: DUO218 is for your size

Didn't mean it to sound that way at all... Just went thru the used chain deal on my other tractor....
You can get off the defense.... doesn't much bother me.....

After buying several sets that needed repair and didn't fit I could have bought a set new. Then after my little incident, new chains aren't expensive. Putting off buying them is! A set of duo combos from tirechain.com set me back 500 shipped, but that was a small price considering.

To tell the size lay them out and pull the side out so they are spread out and measure from end to end and side to side. Then if you look on any tire chain dealers site they usually have the tire size they fit and also the chain dimensions.
