O/T food fit for a King

My Dad and I built a small garage with a cinder block foundation (eat your heart out Allan) in 1948. I was 8 and had a great idea. A treasure box in the corner. So we put a bunch of stuff in there including , drum roll.. a package of hot dogs. I had read they would keep "forever".
An Indian head penny, a Lone Ranger Silver Bullet. $100 min todays market. House is still there, garage is still there, wonder if I can let the owners let me open up that time capsule?

make sure they are BBQ bean and wieners....as Jeff Foxworthy says,,courtesy sniff, make it worth there while for those you love...lol

Forget them hot dogs, just cook up a big pot of soupy beans and bake some corn bread. Then you really got something!

(quoted from post at 04:09:55 01/28/12) Don't give the leftovers to the dog or you'll both be sleepin outside tonight--
fter eatin all them thar beans, would I be part of the glirbal wirmin or climate change???

What kind of beans you usin? Wife might want to try some next time she makes chili or ahm an bean soup---

really wanna impress em... Whip up some macaroni & cheese and tuna fish.... Tuna casserole like in a 5 star restaurant maybe.....

What kinda beans? I LOVE soupy beans especially either Navy or Great Northern (taste the same to me), or Pinto's with a big fat piece of pork jowl in it, simmered for about half a day, with slices of sweet onions, Jalapeno peppers, cornbread and a big slab of butter....beverage of choice.

When I get going on a pot of them I eat till my sides hurt and eat a half bowl more just to ensure that I was full, not just a figment of my imagination.

Ha! Great Northern's just happen to be soaking tonight for tomorrows supper. Envious????? Grin
