Buick no heat

I have a 2005 LaCrosse, the heater fan runs but no air comes out of the defroster vents or the floor heater vents. Can anyone help?

Turn key to "on" position. Do not start. Turn control through the different positions slowly. Defrost = floor - middle. In the quiet you should be able to hear the vents change positions. If not there may be a vacuum hose off. If no take car to have codes read.

Not running, may not be any vacuum to do your checking. Only if system is perfect will you have vacuum available to do this. Otherwise you have to start the car and have sharp ears. Good idea. Dave

The same thing happened to my wifes car. I found out that the antifreeze ran low. Air got into the heater core. The antifreeze does not have to get low for that to happen. I added antifreeze and had to bleed system to remove air. Car now has heet all the time.

There should be enough vac in system to move vents if no leak. Vac leak should also show on codes.

You might have a heat door controlled by an electrically operated servo. If it doesn't open you won't have heat. If you can't find it you might have to get a manual that will show you where it's at so you can test it.
