Just make it look like an accident. Banana peel, bowling ball falling off a doorway, ink splattered on him/her. There are a million methods of paybacks.

I realize it is never one sided, however if it is always the same old fight with neither side being able to please the other and no-one willing to implement a change, then nothing is ever resolved. I think the new job is in line. May not change the fight just who"s fighting lol

Only if you are a dud. Most likely you are not the top of the line employee and he's trying to up grade you. Try harder or join Mr O's force.

This is an issue involving the entire shop. Just had a shop meeting and had the same lectures that they were giving when I started 12+ years ago to the whole set of employees then. I am guilty of some of the problems, however if in 12 years with some different people it is still an issue THEN DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

nope not union, nothing against the union i just choose not to belong. Been thinking about a different job anyway, lots of past issues with my supervisor but very few with the big boss, even when I worked directly under him for a few years.

Seems Jonny Cash had a song about just such a thing. The guy was retiring and when his super was going to give him the gold watch, he was going to lay him out cold. Anyone remember the name of that song or can link us up to it?

Time for a new job.

Way back when, when I was stationed in Germany, there was a certain SFC that I had enough of. They sent my group out into the field living in tents in some woods somewhere. Gets awfully dark in those woods in Germany, and I knew that he was going to end up out with my group, and I had enough of him. Before we left garrison to head out, I took an .07 string off of one of my electric guitars and ran it through two good sized bolts (handles), and anticipated a dark woods, if you know what I mean. To make a long story short, JAG did this thing on how a POW could and couldn't be taken, and how they had to be treated as POWs. And, there were MPs there, and as a demonstration, they grabbed me and some other guys to take prisoners. Grabbed us. Didn't ask us. Grabbed us. While some MPs held us, literally, other MPs went through our pockets to demonstrate how its done. You should have seen the look on their faces when they pulled that gizmo out of one of my pockets. At first they had no idea what it was and jokingly questioned it, but after they unrolled it, they figured out what it was and what for, just not who for. While the other guys stayed there being made POW examples of in front of the Brigade, I got escorted in front of the Brigade commander by some MPs, MP commander, some JAG types, and interregated. Ultimately I admitted to nothing, they kept the gizmo, took me back to my Company. If none of that had happened, I fully expected it to get real dark in that woods later that night. I don't know if those guys did me a favor or not.

Get yourself a new job.

Mark

Almost every time I have changed jobs was in the spring, so now I just keep my mouth shut till summer.

YOU ARE THE MAN! Thanks Zach and Belgium. Saw this after tossing and turning for the last 1 1/2 hours. now I bet I can sleep

(quoted from post at 18:20:36 01/25/12) Is it normal to want to do bodily injury to your bosses on a regular basis, or is it time for a new job?

You are perfectly normal! The sad part of it is that there are so many screwed in the head bosses out there it isn't funny. They manage to BS their way into the position and the upper management buys their line, so the BS gets perpetauted. Bear in mind that upper management is more often than not a joke. They know very little about the daily goings on. The only thing that gets rid of jerks like you are dealing with is
when the profits dip and they are held accountable. Accountability is sadly lacking in the world today though. Just look at our political leaders.
LOL. Hang in there!

You are only being NORMAL.Think beyond the job and conditions outside. time of high unemployment is not the time to move on.

Sounds to me like time for you to quit, new job or not and time to enroll in anger management classes as well.

Becoming frustrated with another individual to the point of wanting to cause bodily harm is not normal. Seek help before you hurt someone and ruin the lives of everyone involved. Seriously.

Actually Ryan it is normal to want to lay hands on people[b:996c7684ac] sometimes[/b:996c7684ac] for a few seconds. If someone gets mad and stays mad, starts yelling or throwing things....to include fist then it's time for anger management. Most of us understand that there is a price to pay for losing control so we don't do it.

You are correct, its very normal to have those thoughts. Ask any head shrink and they will explain that those thoughts are engrained in humans. To have those thoughts are simply human nature and totally natural. Now acting on them is another matter...

I would still seek out another job, no matter how normal the thoughts are. 12 years of putting up with those kind of people is way beyond the call of duty in my opinion.
