Went yesterday evening and picked up my new back blade. It was disassembled and still in the crate... Crate is a 2'x6'x1' cage of 1 1/2" angle iron... looks like 1/8-3/16 thick.... One piece of the frame is just right to hold 3 55 gallon drums (6 if I stack 2).
1300 pounds. Think angle of that size would hold the weight if I anchored one side to the wall and supported the other at each corner and in the middle ? Longest unsupported span would be 3ft. Would fit nicely above my crimper and I'd just have to put valves (?) and a flex pipe on the bottoms to feed the crimper....
Also, since it's a lighter quality blade, would it be a good move to weld the other two 6ft lengths across the back side of the blade?
Thanks, Dave
